Africa’s trusted technology partner, registered in Nairobi

What Africa Tech Trust is, how it works, and how governments, companies, founders, investors and the diaspora engage with it.

Africa Tech Trust Ltd is a private limited company registered in Nairobi, Kenya, and owned by its shareholders across the five African regions and the diaspora. It exists to do one thing: bring governments, companies, founders, investors and technology experts together to turn African technology ambition into delivered capability.

The institution is anchored on two technology practices. ATT AI builds, governs and scales AI capability for governments and institutions — readiness assessments, pilot-to-production programmes, executive training across seven verticals, partner-hosted innovation labs and the Africa AI Academy. The blockchain practice makes ATT Africa’s trusted source of applied blockchain skills — seven modules, seven audiences, ATT-certified credentials and economy-fit use cases.

The ecosystem layer

Around the two practices sits the ecosystem layer: startup incubation, asset management, policy and advisory, grant writing, ecosystem matchmaking and the diaspora bridge to the Caribbean and Brazil. These are the services a continental institution can deliver and a single platform cannot — coordinating, complementing and amplifying what African hubs, networks and platforms already do, never duplicating them.

How the institution is governed

Authority is distributed by design. The Constituent General Assembly is the founding authority; the Council of Founders holds veto rights over fundamental change; the Board of Directors is accountable for delivery and holds the live risk register; Technical Committees — Governance & Legal, Knowledge & AI and their peers — are the expert engines. Governments engage through memoranda of understanding, never as shareholders, so the institution depends on no single state, family or funder.

How to engage

  • Governments and public bodies — request a briefing; the first engagement is an assessment that ends in a roadmap
  • Companies, foundations and DFIs — discuss a partnership: joint programmes, hosted labs and academies, sponsored research
  • Founders and builders — build with ATT through incubation, matchmaking and the innovation pipeline
  • Individuals and institutions — express interest in shareholding; participation is subject to the Statutes
  • The diaspora — join the bridge: expertise, capital and market access in both directions
  • Media — the newsroom carries the institutional facts, boilerplate and brand assets

Trusted to build.

The founding record — the Concept Note, the Statutes and the Lusaka Declaration — is public. So is the leadership. Write to the secretariat at [email protected], or start with a briefing.
